Felt Happy Meal

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

More fun things in the mail! My felt sampler pack arrived from prairie point junction. I have been looking forward to this for awhile, but their sampler packs are the cutest way I can imagine to bulk up my fabric stores. You literally get a rainbow of wool in a happy meal style take – out – folding box. Swoon! I know what I am doing with my Sunday….

If you’re looking for felt, I definitely suggest you give them a ring. The colors are gorgeous!

Griffin and I realized that it had been awhile since we took a holiday portrait to send
to our friends and families. We were totally going to go to the local Olan Mills Studio and
and get our very own awkward family photo made. But as luck would have it, a giant
blizzard swept in just in time to add that festive touch to our xmas photo shoot.

This is only a few meager inches into the 15 inches that we were pummeled with,
knocking out our electricity, cell phones and water. The lights aren’t back on yet,
but our spirits are festive- and hey, rainbow galoshes make everything OK!

an amazing package at the end of october? it must be…

So, we were pleasantly suprised to find upon our first trip to the mailbox after returning
from NYC, this small, impeccably designed and packaged little number patiently waiting
for us. Our friends at Orange You Glad have once again outdone themselves with an
amazing Halloween treat. Check it out!

Truth be told, in the past, New York City was not really known as a town that made
a big deal out of celebrating All Hallow’s eve. But that all changed when Orange You
Glad came to town and started bringing Halloween cheer to the boroughs in a big way
on an annual basis. I mean, seriously, how can you ignore such true spirit!

We completely missed out on the festivities this time around, existing only in limbo
after our stint in the city. But we’ve just had it delivered to our doorstep. Thanks guys!!

Wednesday afternoon seemed like a good time to have a craftin’
happy hour at Lily’s. Apparently she scored massive amounts of
buttons and gobs of goodies at an obscure Alabama flea market,
which she promises to tell us all about later.

…………………….

She has been busy stitching up pixely kitsch in the form of crocheted
super heros from the 1980’s and beyond including these lovely space invaders…

And a certain sexy plumber from super mario bros.

Lily gives credit to her recent fixation of sprite stitch. Where you can find jillions
of hand crafted tschotckes and even the patterns to make them yourself.
Yay for crafting, Yay for the 80’s.
